Michaela Kuehni began her lifelong dance career at the age of three in small-town Minooka, Illinois. After graduating high school, she moved to Pittsburgh to pursue her dream at Point Park University, where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in modern dance, summa cum laude. While at Point Park, she was honored to perform in works by Doug Bentz, Garfield Lemons, Jason McDole, Nacho Duato, Kiesha Lalama, and others; while getting to work with renowned faculty such as Mark Burrell, Oliver Tobin, and Caitlin Scranton. Michaela has had the privilege of working with many young artists in both the Pittsburgh area and at home; as she taught Pre-Professional Community Classes and private lessons at Point Park, founded Point Park’s Tap Club, and was an instructor for the Pittsburgh CLO Academy of Musical Theater. Michaela recently finished her 8th summer with Point Park as an instructor for their International Summer Dance and Summer Dance Workshop programs. She was honored to enjoy a few of those years as Program Director. At home, she has been an instructor at several local studios since 2020, and has had the honor of choreographing Minooka Community High School’s musical for the past 2 years. Michaela works as a Paraprofessional at Minooka Junior High School, where she also began their first ever dance team. She is the founder of a Not for Profit, Downstage Right Dance Company, and she is forever grateful to continue her time spreading the love of the arts and dance to young artists everywhere!
