For anyone Ages 5-18 Years Old who is new to theatre
This class is a great introductory course for students who are brand new to theatre, or for younger students who are just gaining confidence in the performing arts. Students will learn theatre terminology and practice basic performance skills like “cheating out,” stage directions, and ensemble building through games, script analysis, and character development activities.

Ages 6-18 Years Old
Prerequisite: Completion of Acting 1 (or equivalent- Previously called Acting 1/2)
Students will continue to develop their acting chops in Acting 2. With a heavy focus on advanced theatre games, character development, and script analysis, students in this course are sure to grow as performers. Students will build on the skills acquired in Acting 1 (or from previous theatre experience) and will put various philosophies and theories of acting into practice while rehearsing scripted, unscripted, and improvised scenes.
This class is currently not on the schedule. Contact us if you are interested!

For anyone Ages 7-18 Years Old
Prerequisite: Completion of Acting 2 (or equivalent- Previously called Acting 3/4)
This course is for older theatre students who have mastered the basics of acting and performance and are ready for more intense, individualized instruction. Students will collaborate with peers to write, produce, rehearse, and perform a one act play throughout the semester, and will perform this play at the end-of-semester showcase.

FOR ANY AGE 5 and up
If a student (child or adult) would like one-on-one training, they are welcome to take private acting lessons at YPAC. This is great for those who want to nail down their audition monologue, master their character, and go further in their training. Each private lesson is 30 minutes long. There is limited time in the schedule for private lessons, so no one is guaranteed a slot. Reach out to our team and we will do our best to find out what works best for your needs!

Ages 5-10 Years Old
Students who are 9-10 years old are welcome to audition for the mainstage YTC productions instead, as long as they have been in at least one production before and feel comfortable potentially being the youngest in the mainstage cast.
Students enrolled in the YPAC Mini Performers Company will be part of the YTC mainstage productions, but on a smaller scale. These students will have the opportunity to perform 3-4 musical numbers in the final production without the stress of being committed to two full theatre production rehearsals each week. With smaller class sizes, students will receive individual attention and will have the opportunity to grow in confidence and skill while gaining valuable performance experience. Students will attend all tech week rehearsals, performances, and select additional rehearsals at the YPAC studio during the production process.

Ages 12-18 Years Old
Older students will dive into the world of musical theatre with intense focus on music coaching and comprehension, character analysis, and production construction. This class will be especially helpful for any student who hopes to pursue musical theatre more intensely in the future, whether that is in high school productions, future YPAC shows, or college theatre programs.

Ages 8-18 Years Old
Students must be enrolled in at least one theatre class (acting, improv, intro to directing, backstage brigade, etc.) in order to be in the YTC program. Students in the YTC can register for additional classes at a discounted rate.
YPAC’s Theatre Conservatory (YTC) is our most advanced theatre ensemble, diving full into their theatre training by learning dance vocabulary, how to harmonize with a singing ensemble, improvisational acting, playwriting, and more. Students involved with YTC are considered for lead roles in all of our productions.
Students in this program will be committed to attending 2 theatre production rehearsals a week (if they are called). Students will also be required to attend all tech week rehearsals and all the performances.
If a student wants to be in a YPAC theatre production, they must be in the YTC (with the exception of the Mini Performer's Company).

Ages 12-18 Years Old
Prerequisite: Students must have completed Acting 2 (previously called Acting 1/2) in order to take this class

Is your student considering working in the arts when they grow up? Do they want to work in theatre, but don’t quite know where they fit yet? This individualized internship program is designed to cater to 1-2 selected students’ specific interests and talents. Students will receive one-on-one mentorship meetings with members of the YPAC artistic team, as well as be invited to attend production meetings and preparation sessions. If desired, students will have the opportunity to block scenes, create choreography, and more for the final production under the guidance of the show’s artistic team.
Note: Students must submit an application to be selected for this program. Only 1-2 finalists will be chosen. Selected students may be part of the YTC cast, or they may be exclusively registered in classes - this will not affect the final selection decision and all interested students are encouraged to apply.
